Black Beans

Wash and rinse beans. Bring 8 cups of water to a boil. Add the beans, onions, garlic, epazote and salt to taste. Reduce the heat to medium for 2 hours, or until the beans are tender to your liking. Add more hot water if necessary.

1 cup black beans

3-4 crushed garlic cloves

1/4 white onion sliced

10 whole epazote leaves

sea salt

For more spice, Jintana likes to add:

1-2 tbsp cumin

1 tsp dried oregano

ground black pepper to taste
